GRAHAM HAMPSON SILK : TRUSTEE
Graham Hampson Silk is Chairman of Hampson Holdings, a private investment holding company. Graham has been heavily involved in the Advertising and Film industries and has been a Co-Executive Producer on a number of feature films and he recently sold his Airport company to an Irish property operator.
In February 2001 Graham was named as one of the 'entrepeneurs to watch' by a corporate investment magazine. Unfortunately, in that same month Graham himself was also diagnosed with Leukaemia and has spent the last 6 years successfully (so far!) battling the disease.
In late 2001, Graham was lucky enough to be one of only 40 people in the UK to be put into a clinical trial for the, at that stage, untried or tested drug STI 571. That drug is now know as Glivec and is the most successful Cancer drug yet developed. Because of this, Graham is committed to funding the Professors at the 5 hospitals supported by the GTF so that more of these new drugs and therapies can be found and developed to help other Leukaemia and Cancer sufferers benefit in the same way.
