Welcome
Thanks for visiting the Geoff Thomas Foundation website and for taking interest in a subject that is so close to my heart.
In July 2003 I was diagnosed with chronic myleiod leukamia and given three years to live.
But thanks to the amazing and dedicated medical care and support I received, I am still here today and living life to the full with my wife Julie and daughters Madison and Georgia.
My battle against the disease has been the toughest of my life and that is why I have dedicated my five years in remission to raising money and helping those who are less fortunate than I was.
Central to our fundraising plans have been our two attempts at riding the Tour de France route - which you can read all about elsewhere on the site.
There is also the chance to purchase our replica cycling kit with the profit being handed directly the the GTF, thanks to our friends at Impsport.
And, as a former professional player, football has formed an important part of our efforts.
I have also written a very personal account of my battle against this terrible disease which you can read in my biography, 'Riding the Storm'.
But our fundraising plans are not limited to bike riding and football so we have lots of exciting ideas in line for the coming months and years which you will be able to keep abreast of via this website.
The aim of this site is obviously to help drive our fundraising plans but we are keen to hear from you - and not just receive your cash!
